Canine to Five Policy Agreement
Admissions & Requirements
Canine to Five reserves the right to refuse or dismiss any dog that does not meet health, vaccination, temperament, or behavior standards. For the safety of all dogs, those attending Day Camp must be spayed or neutered by nine months of age.
Vaccinations & Health (Applies to All Services)
Dogs four months of age and older must have current Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella vaccinations. Vaccination records must be submitted and up to date prior to check-in. Even with proper vaccination, illnesses such as canine cough or other upper respiratory infections may still occur. If a dog becomes ill while in our care, prompt pickup may be required. By enrolling in services, owners authorize Canine to Five to obtain medical records and communicate with their veterinarian if needed.
General Policies
All services, rates, and availability at Canine to Five are subject to change at any time. A valid credit card is required to remain on file for all clients and may be used for any charges related to your pets’ stay or services. Any unpaid balance at the time of pickup will be subject to collections.
Payments, Deposits & Cancellations
Payment for all services is due at the time of pickup.
- A one-night deposit is required at booking for all boarding reservations
- Non-peak reservations require at least 72 hours’ notice for cancellations to receive a refund
- Peak and holiday reservations will require a one night deposit, a $5 surcharge and a minimum of 5 days’ notice for refunds.
- For stays longer than 14 days, weekly payments will be automatically charged to the required credit card on file.
- Extended stays after check-in will follow the same payment requirements
Boarding Check-In and Boarding Check-Out Times & Fees
Check-in begins at 2:00 PM
- Any arrivals prior to 2pm will incur a $25 check in fee.
Check-out is at 12:00 PM
- Any departures after 12pm will incur a $25 check out fee.
Day Care Late Check Out Fee
We offer a 15-minute grace period for Day Care pick-ups when needed. After that grace period, a $25 late pick-up fee will be applied. If you are unable to pick up your dog within one hour of closing, they will be checked in for an overnight stay at our current boarding rate.
Grooming Policies
Our grooming department is extremely busy and therefore we require that owners provide the groomers with at least 24 hours advance notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Otherwise, our groomers lose income since they are on commission. If a client does not cancel or reschedule within 24 hours of their appointment, or if they cannot complete their appointment due to lack of proof of vaccinations, then a missed appointment fee of $40 may be charged to the client when applicable.
Grooming prices are estimates and may change based on coat condition, matting, handling needs, or temperament.
While grooming is generally safe, minor incidents such as small cuts or skin irritation can occur. Grooming may also reveal underlying health concerns. Owners should disclose any known conditions in advance. If an issue occurs, owners will be notified and veterinary care will be sought if necessary
Feeding Policies
We offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner during your pet’s stay. If you choose to use our house food, there is a $5 charge per meal for our chicken blend and a $7 per meal charge for alternate protein options. Our house food is NutriSource, and you also have the option to purchase a full bag for your pet’s stay to avoid the per-meal charge. For your pet’s safety, we provide a 1-hour rest period after each meal to help reduce the risk of bloat.
Medication Administration
Medications and supplements can be administered for a $3 fee per administration. If multiple medications are given at the same time, it counts as one administration. Separate administration times will be charged individually.
Emergency Medical Authorization
If a dog requires medical attention, Canine to Five is authorized to provide the necessary level of care. Canine to Five may contact the listed veterinarian or transport the dog to the nearest medical facility if urgent care is needed. In some situations, staff may need to make immediate decisions before the owner or emergency contact can be reached.
All medical treatment costs including veterinary bills, staff time, mileage, and related expenses are the responsibility of the owner and are due prior to pickup.
Training & Offsite Activities
Dogs participating in training or offsite activities may be handled by staff or others. Owners are responsible for their dog’s behavior and agree to follow all staff instructions. Canine to Five is not responsible for incidents involving third parties related to a dog’s behavior.
Release of Liability, Safety, and Client Responsibilities
Services at Canine to Five, including daycare, boarding, training, and grooming, involve inherent risks due to the unpredictable nature of dogs. Even with attentive supervision, injuries can occur during normal play or routine activities.
Owners are required to inform Canine to Five at drop-off of any allergies, medical conditions, physical limitations, or pre-existing concerns. Dogs with special needs may have an increased risk of illness or injury, and this information helps us provide the safest possible care.
Dogs must remain securely leashed or properly contained while in the lobby and all common areas.
Owners are financially responsible for their dog’s behavior while participating in services. This includes any damage to the facility, equipment, or other property, and clients will be charged for any such damage. Owners are also responsible for any injuries or incidents involving their dog, including those affecting other dogs, guests, or staff. By enrolling in services, owners agree that Canine to Five, its employees, and property owners are not responsible for any resulting injuries, damages, or expenses, and owners agree to cover all related costs. This agreement remains in effect for the duration of services and may only be changed in writing.
