As we all stay up to date on the Coronavirus, we wanted to communicate to our clients what changes Canine to Five will be making.

Yes, We’re Open!
Neither of our locations will be closing at this time; We want to ensure we continue providing a healthy outlet for dogs whether their humans keep going to work, or are choosing to stay home.

For those of you working from home, we’d like to remind you of our half day rates. If you drop your pup off in the morning for 5 hours or less, it is only $22 for daycare. This will allow you to focus on work, while we focus on getting out that energy!

Coronavirus & Your Dog
While there have been recent reports of a dog contracting the Coronavirus in Hong Kong, the American Veterinary Medical Association has speculated that this may be a case of human-to-animal transmission, and that dogs cannot pass along the virus to humans. For people diagnosed with the Coronavirus, the AVMA recommends using an abundance of caution, enlisting a friend or family member (or daycare!) to care for your dog’s daily needs. If you must care for your pet, then wear a facemask, make sure not to share food, kiss, or hug them, and to wash your hands before and after any contact with them. It is important to remember there is currently no evidence that pets can spread COVID-19 to other animals, including people.

The AVMA also recommends having an emergency kit prepared with at least two weeks’ worth of your pet’s food and any needed medications. Usually we think about emergency kits like this in terms of what might be needed for an evacuation, but it’s also good to have one prepared in the case of quarantine or self-isolation when you cannot leave your home.

Cancellation Policy
From now until April 30th, we will be waiving our cancellation fees. While we still would very much appreciate a phone call if you plan to cancel, you will not be charged for last minute cancellations during this time. You can always cancel online through your customer portal at any time.

Cleanliness & Sanitation
While we are always on our sanitation game, our staff has been trained to begin sanitizing multiple times per day during this period. For frequently touched objects in our client and staff areas, we will be disinfecting with Lysol, and for areas that our canine friends come into contact with, our pet-safe Oxivir cleaning solution will be used.

Hospital Worker Discount
We would like to announce that from March 16th – April 30th, Canine to Five will be extending a 20% discount on daycare packages and boarding stays to all hospital workers. Just show your work badge to our front desk and this will be applied for you! This offer is for both new and existing clients.

If you have any questions on our policies or procedures, feel free to send us an email.

We appreciate your continued support,
Liz Blondy & The Canine to Five Team
